The wee hands behind the clay
Wee Hands is the alter ego of Giada Gentile. Originally from Italy, she moved to Glasgow in 2022.
A curious fortune teller once told her, “You must work with your hands.”
With a background in visual arts, theatre, and pedagogy, Giada believes in the educational power of creativity and its ability to foster empathy and connection.
She discovered pottery after taking her very first class — and from that moment on, her wee hands found their favorite medium. Clay quietly stole her heart and soon became her language, her craft, and her work.
Today, she works as a pottery technician and teacher at her local community studio, where she spends her days creating, learning, and sharing the magic of clay.
“I consider myself a curious and playful potter. I love every aspect of working with clay and use the material according to what I want to express. I might be handbuilding small sculptures, spinning pots on the wheel, or doodling cheerful illustrations using sgraffito and mixed techniques.”
Her endless curiosity matches the limitless possibilities of clay — and she’s certain she’ll never tire of exploring them.
